Why DALL·E?
DALL·E is globally recognized as one of the few AI models that can convert text into images with a higher understanding level than existing AIs.
Ways to Use DALL·E
Following our previous post on DALL·E, today we will share how to use it on BING.
1. What is Bing Image Creator
Microsoft’s Bing, often abbreviated as MS, is a web search engine provided by Microsoft, and along with Google, is one of the most widely used search engines globally. This means it has an enormous amount of data! (Over 1 billion images according to MS Blog)
Bing Image Creator is a service that combines MS Bing’s search functionality with DALL·E 3 technology. It’s based on text prompts, so if users describe the image they want to create in text, it can then generate that image using AI.
2. Advantages of Bing Image Creator
While there are many benefits such as accessibility, speed, cost-effectiveness, and security, I personally think the most significant advantage is that anyone with a great idea and creativity can easily create AI images. Furthermore, it offers more intuitive, diverse, and precise image creation, and it can even produce abstract images, making it highly versatile.
1. Image Creator is free to use for anyone with a Microsoft account.
2. Even beginners who don’t know programming or design can easily create the kind of image they want by inputting a command in the text prompt.
- Not just simple words, but even descriptive requests are understood.
- Currently, it supports English and Korean, with plans to add more languages in the future. (MS Blog)
3. Since it’s based on MS’s reliable image data, it tends to generate relevant and safe images.
- The more detailed the prompt, the higher the likelihood of getting the desired image.
- MS complies with C2PA* specifications, so you can verify the source of the image. They also have systems in place to prevent harmful or inappropriate images and those that promote illegal activities.
3. How to Use DALL·E on Bing
1. Access MS Bing’s Image Creator –> Bing Image Creator
2. Create an account / Login. You can create an account through email or phone verification.
3. Enter the image prompt you want to create. For example, let’s try creating an AI image related to Aurora.
By the way, if you press the pink ‘Making’ button on the right, you will see a progress bar for image creation as shown below, and you can also view tips on using Bing Image Creator.
While the image is being trained, it seems that you can try various things through these tip information. It feels like the brief tutorials that appear while entering a battlefield in a game, wouldn’t you say? Now, shall we take a look at the generated image of “Aurora”
It seems that languages other than English and Korean also recognize the word Aurora, but the actual generated images vary depending on the language used. This time, we’ll try creating an image with a more specific sentence.
For descriptive prompts, it seems that both English and Korean are perfectly reflected. Of course, the accuracy was highest when entering commands in ‘English’, which is officially compatible. For Korean, it seemed to recognize simple descriptive forms, but if the details are written out or the adjectival phrases get longer, it did not understand well.
If you want to create the desired image, it’s recommended to write the text prompt specifically and accurately, then translate it into English and command.
- On Bing Image Creator, you can use a ‘boost’ to generate images faster. One boost is consumed per image creation.
(As of October 20, 2023), you get 15 boosts when you sign up, and it resets to 15 daily, though the reset time varies per account.
With Bing, anyone can easily create various AI images, and the usage is straightforward! Today, we explored how to use DALL·E on Bing. Try creating diverse images through Bing. Next time, we’ll discuss another exciting AI service!
