What is MagicAnimate

Hello everyone, hope you’re having a great day!
Today, I’m excited to talk about an amazing AI animation tool, MagicAnimate.ai.

MagicAnimate

Temporally Consistent Human Image Animation using Diffusion Model

MagicAnimate creates near-perfect videos using reference images and motion data, capturing both static and moving sections like Depth. Think of the reference as a single frame you want to animate.

They also show comparison videos regarding quality. Below, you can see various settings compared with results using MagicAnimate.

2. Qualitative Comparisons and Examples

The most exciting part is combining Txt2Img model with MagicAnimate.
Below are examples of animations created by applying motion data to models generated through prompts.

Prompt : “A woman doing yoga in the universe, surrounded by supernova.”

Isn’t it incredible? Just with a bit of editing, we could create even more fantastic results. I’m already thrilled!

3. Multi-Person

And there’s more! Another influential feature of MagicAnimate is the ability to create videos with multiple people. Many might have struggled with multi-person animations using Stable Diffusion. But now, creating multi-person videos, like idol or pop singer dance videos, seems possible.

My heart races thinking about these once-imaginary technologies!

4. MagicAnimate Demo

Since it’s not officially released, you can try the demo feature through the link below. Let me show you how to use it quickly.

Once you enter the link above, you’ll see a UI like this.

As you can see, there are several UI Boxes. It’s user-friendly and visually appealing, especially for a demo version.

  • Animation Results
  • Reference Image
  • Motion Sequence
  • Random Seed
  • Sampling Steps
  • Guidance scale

Scrolling down, under the title ‘Examples’, you’ll find a list of Reference images and Motion Sequences.

Since it’s still a demo version, there are some delays in performing many tasks.
So, I’ll conduct a simple test using the reference images and motion data provided below. As you scroll down, you’ll see a list of reference images. Selecting one will display the image on the left and the motion video on the right in the UI, as shown below.

With the Seed value, Sampling Steps, and Guidance Scale left as they are, pressing the Animate button will generate a video, which you can see below.

Wow!!! The fact that such high-quality videos can be produced from just one reference image is truly revolutionary! While the motion data used here isn’t based on extracting joints like we discussed before, once this process is officially released, it seems we could create even more complete videos with some additional editing.

It’s a bit disappointing that only a demo version is available now, but I encourage you all to test it and hope it greatly aids in your AI video production process. Stay tuned for more updates on new AI content next time!

Just as a reference, if you’re curious about creating animations using Joints, you can check out the content through the link below!
